Storm Quash Revolution To Clinch Playoff Berth

Sioux Falls, S.D. – The Sioux Falls Storm have clinched a spot in playoffs, and extended their home winning streak to 32, after defeating the Texas Revolution 59-16 at the Sioux Falls Arena.
The Storm quickly jumped out on the Revolution in the first quarter after a touchdown pass from Terrance Bryant to Jeremiah Oates, followed by a Martevious Young rushing touchdown on their following possession to give them an early 14-0 lead.
Texas started the second quarter with a field goal from Brett Peddicord. The Storm answered quickly with a touchdown pass from Bryant to Mike Tatum from eight yards out extending the lead to 21-3. Tory Harrison closed out the first half for the Storm with a rushing touchdown giving them a 28-3 cushion.
The Revolution defense started off the second half strong forcing the Storm to take three points from Parker Douglass. On the Revolution’s first offensive possession of the 2nd half, Marcus Jackson found Jeremy Brown in the back of the end zone cutting the lead to 31-10. A couple of offensive drives later for the Storm, Harrison added another rushing touchdown to give the Storm a 38-10 lead after three.
In the fourth quarter, the Storm took full control of the game with three rushing touchdowns from Young. Texas received another passing touchdown, this time from Jackson to Phillip Barnett, with a drop kick PAT attempt falling no good. The Storm defense secured the final score after blocking Texas from the end zone in the last seconds of the game.
Defensively the Storm held Texas to just 60 yards in the first half. Tyler Knight led the team with 12 tackles, while Rachman Crable added three sacks.
With the win, the Storm has clinched a spot in the IFL Playoffs and will host the United Conference Championship Game on June 22nd at the Sioux Falls Arena. Next week they will wrap up the regular season taking on Texas in Allen.
