SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Earlier this week Lincoln girls basketball coach Lyle Pearson announced that he was stepping down. It ends a nearly quarter century run of coaching basketball at Lincoln.
Pearson coached the boys for 18 years and the girls for the last five, winning a title with the boys in 1995 and the girls last year.
Though he says he's ready to move on, Pearson admits he'll miss coaching win the winter rolls around.
"Oh it's going to be hard next winter. It really will. I love coaching and what I really like is the preparation and the practice and getting the kids to play together and, you know, building a team. You know, when the team comes together, in a classic example of what we did this year, it's just a great feeling." Pearson says.
