Kris Tschetter no longer plays on the LPGA Tour or lives in Sioux Falls.
Yet it's always easy to bring her love of golf and her hometown together once a year.
"As a mother I want to be involved with something that helps kids. And this is really important and it helps them now." Tschetter says.
For the fifth year Kris was the leader of the 10th annual YMCA Golf Classic, an event that's raised more than a million dollars for after school programs.
"I just love getting back to Sioux Falls. I was raised here. These are my people." Kris says.
This year the clinic added a heavy hitter in seven time baseball all-star Reggie Smith.
"She thought enough of my golf game to invite me to the tournament here." Smith says.
"Can I just say he did have an amazing golf game, but I thought enough of him as a person! You are a wonderful person!" Kris says.
It's an event that continues to grow because of Tschetter's magnetic personality.
"Look what this town bred. It bred just an amazing athlete and an amazing human being. A girl that's impacted the world of sports and all of us." Country Recording Artist Steve Azar says.
And while her golf career may be ending...
"I love it, but I want to be home with my kids more." Tschetter says.
..Her roots still run deep.
