Canaries Late Rally Falls Short

AMARILLO, TX --  After falling behind 6-0 and later 9-2, the Sioux Falls Canaries mounted a furious rally in the final two innings, but still fell short at Amarillo 9-7.

The Canaries scored four runs in the ninth and brought the go-ahead run to the plate with two outs in the form of Jared Clark.  Clark would strike out to end the game.

J.P. Ramirez went 2-4 with four RBI.  Amarillo's Chris Valencia went 2-5 with two runs scored and thre RBI.  Kyle Ruwe went six innings, giving up eight runs (seven earned).

This was the start of a ten game road trip for the Canaries.  Game two of the Amarillo series starts tomorrow night at 7.
