Bookmark and Share

Six leaders from Kazakhstan are visiting South Dakota to learn about agriculture diversification.

The South Dakota World Affairs Council is hosting the leaders, who will be in South Dakota from Friday through June 29.

The delegation will visit sustainable farming sites, ethanol and biofuel plants, a grain elevator and dairy operations, among other site visits.

Delegates will stay in homestays in Brookings and take part in cultural and community activities.

Nels Granholm is the current chair of the South Dakota World Affairs Council. He says the program helps teach people about other cultures in the world.

The delegation will make a public presentation of their work at the South Dakota State University Northern Plains Biostress Lab on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
