Hundreds of bicycles are stolen in the Sioux Empire each year.
But there is something you can do to increase your chances of getting yours back. You can register your bicycle free of charge.
All you have to do is fill out an application. In return, you will receive a sticker with a serial number to place on your bike. That way if your bicycle is lost or stolen and later recovered, police can return it to you.
Friday afternoon, officers were at Kuehn Park helping people register their bikes.
You can also fill out an application on the city's website and return it to the law enforcement center located in downtown Sioux Falls.
