MINNEAPOLIS, MN --
Yankton's Colton Iverson would certainly like to follow in Miller's NBA footsteps. And today the former Gopher returned to Minneapolis and impressed former Sioux Falls Skyforce coach Flip Saunders.
Iverson worked out for the Timberwolves today and will hold one final workout with the Spurs on Sunday before Thursday's NBA Draft.
Colton's college career started with the Gophers but never panned out. Iverson transferred to Colorado State and was first team all conference this season.
Now the Wolves GM, Saunders says Colton has opened a lot of eyes.
"I think if the people in Minnesota had seen him play, they wouldn't think it was the same guy. It was a transformation. So you have to give him credit, give the staff where he went where they worked with him, and he's much improved. There's a lot of confidence and I believe he's a guy who has a chance to make it in our league somewhere." Saunders Says.
"I'm a completely different player than I was at Minnesota. I'm not the slow slug that you saw first three years at Minnesota. Completely changed, slimmed down my body, became more of an athlete, more explosive, and really just worked hard every day to have a complete, all around game, offensively and defensively." Iverson Says.
