Authorities were assessing damage Saturday from storm that killed a South Dakota woman and seriously injured two others.
Hamlin County Sheriff Chad Schlotterbeck says a 63-year-old woman was killed after she hunkered down in the bathtub in her trailer on the east side of Lake Poinsett when a storm lifted the structure and dropped it to the ground on Friday. Schlotterbeck says her husband was seriously injured.
The sheriff says a worker at a cheese plant in nearby Lake Norden suffered serious injuries from an electrical shock. Schlotterbeck says the man may have been struck by lightning while working on a water tower.
The sheriff says at least 10 homes were destroyed and another 10 were seriously damaged. Hundreds of people in the county remained without power Saturday morning.
