Wolters' Versatility Intrigues Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE, WISC--  As just the 8th player from South Dakota State taken in the N-B-A Draft, Nate Wolters took an unconventional path to professional basketball.

And Buck fans are about to learn what Jackrabbit fans have known the last four years....that Nate's not a conventional player.

Which is a big part of the reason Milwaukee took Wolters in the with the 38th pick.

GM John Hammond says he thought Wolters could have been a first round pick, adding that Nate's size and playmaking ability make him unique.

"A 6'4'' point guard.  You know, he scored at South Dakota State because his team needed him to do that but one thing he knows is he has a great feel for the game and great knowledge at how to play the game."  Hammond says.
