Learning How To Fold A Flag

With the Fourth of July right around the corner, many people are proudly flying the American flag.
The Local VFW Post 628 taught kids how to fold the flag the proper way when they are done displaying the stars and stripes.
The veterans gave the kids tips. For example, always fold as tightly as possible. Fold the long way first, then in triangles and make sure the color red isn’t showing.
Veterans say it’s important to teach kids what the flag represents.
“It’s helping these kids to learn what our country is based on, the principles of freedom and liberty for all,” said Dennis Thomas of VFW Post 628.
The kids were from Lutheran social services and ranged in age from 5 to 10 years old.
