Names Released In Fatal Motorcycle Accident

Bookmark and Share

The name of a man who was killed in a fatal motorcycle accident and another man who was injured were released today.

23-year-old Jacob D. Huggett of Long Prairie, MN died at the scene of the accident that occured just before 3 a.m. on Tuesday morning.

20-year-old Tobben W. Aeschliman of Sioux Falls went to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say a 2002 Suzuki motorcycle was being driven westbound on 26th Street when it failed to stop or turn at Kiwanis Avenue. The motorcycle went through the intersection and then crashed into a chain-link fence near a home.

Portions of Kiwanis Avenue from 22nd Street to 28th Street were closed for approximately three and half hours to investigate. 26th Street between Kiwanis Avenue and Williams Avenue was closed as well but has since opened back up.

Authorities say neither the driver nor the passenger was wearing a helmet and speed does appear to be a factor.

The investigation is continuing.
