A place booming with plenty of fireworks Thursday was at the Sioux Empire Fairgrounds.
Thursday the Fairgrounds had inflatables, face painting, vendors and other booths for the 4th of July. It all led up to the main event, a 20 minute fireworks show that began at sundown. It was choreographed to music.
Fairground officials plan on hosting anywhere between 5 to 12 thousand people on the grounds.
For families attending the show, many say it’s a holiday tradition they can’t miss.
Attendant Nicole Boone said, “We've painted faces, and right now my daughter is playing in the bouncy castle. It's a great way for her to burn off some energy while we are waiting.”
Jaycees Fireworks Display is expected to be the biggest yet in Sioux Falls.
