Dobmeier Loves Being Behind the Wheel

There's nothing lucky about the number 13 car of Mark Dobmeier.
He wins because he might be the hardest working man on the track.
"I just haven't had the opportunity to do it full time. I'm just driving this car for the love of the sport. Nobody on my crew, or me, anybody, is paid. Every dollar this sprint car makes we put back into it.." Dobmeier says.
Mark's schedule proves it. Every Friday night he races in his hometown Grand Forks, then drives nine and half hours overnight to race the Knoxville Speedway in Iowa on Saturday, then comes to Husets Speedway in Brandon, before getting back to Grand Forks around 4 AM to go to his day job at 7 AM.
"Monday's are a little bit tough for us. We're a little bit groggy and sluggish. At the end of the day I think that you can keep a lot of fun in racing that way. The pressure of having your paycheck of how you finish isn't there, I mean, because we're not paid to do it." Dobmeier says.
And it's kept him winning to. Dobmeier's won three straight races at Knoxville and is the points leader at Husets, where he won the World Of Outlaws event last year.
"I love the reaction of the crowd and everything. And last year when I got out of the car after pulling off the A main victory and you got 10,000 people on your feet, I mean, the feeling of it was just awesome." Dobmeier says.
It's why he'll keep sprinting through the midwest....
...And probably winning.
