After Republican Larry Rhoden announced he's joining the race for the United States Senate, Democrat Rick Weiland is preparing for a 100 city tour of South Dakota.
Weiland, the only Democrat in the race, says he's been busy with the logistics of organizing the 3 month tour.
“I believe our efforts to talk about big money and their influence is going to resonate with reasonable Republicans, Independents and Democrats. I feel really good about where we are right now, said Weiland.
Weiland says his 100 city tour will give people a chance to get to know him. On the flip side, he gets a chance to hear what they are concerned about.
So far Weiland is running unopposed in the race for Senator Tim Johnson's senate seat. On the Republican side Rhoden and former Governor Mike Rounds will compete for the nomination to run in 2014.
