A Storm Lake woman has been accused of hitting her teenage son with a vehicle and driving away.
Storm Lake police say 33-year-old Esmeralda Vasquez-Espinoza got into an argument with her 17-year-old son Thursday night.
Police say at some point, the side of Vasquez-Espinoza's vehicle hit the teenager, who was trying to stop his mother from driving away. The boy was knocked to the ground and Vasquez-Espinoza drove away.
The teen was treated at the scene. Vasquez-Espinoza was charged with misdemeanor count of leaving the scene of an accident and not having a driver's license. Police also filed a report with the state Department of Human Services.
Records do not list an attorney for Vasquez-Espinoza.
