2 New Match Play Champs Crowned

Bookmark and Share

Brookings golfer Morgan Fitts won the Women's Match Play Title in dramatic fashion as she birdied the final hole on her home course to beat Sydney Bormann of Parkston 1 up. Bormann had a birdie putt lip out on 18 and Fitts then drained a 3-foot birdie for the win. Both the men and women's tournaments were played at Brookings C.C. And future SDSU golfer Grant Smith of Johnston, IA edged Matt Johnson 2 & 1 in a 36 hole match after Johnson had taken a 4-up lead with 14 holes to play.
