A new trial is getting ready to begin for the woman whose manslaughter conviction in a fatal car crash was recently overturned by the South Dakota Supreme Court.
Tammy Kvasnicka was granted a new trial because the justices said a police officer's testimony should not have been allowed in her first trial.
Authorities say Kvasnicka drove the wrong way on Interstate 229 in Sioux Falls while drunk and hit an oncoming car, killing one person in the car.
Evidence showed her blood-alcohol level at the time of the crash was three times the legal limit for driving.
This morning, dates were set for her upcoming trial.
Jury selection will start next week, with her trial scheduled to begin the following Monday.
