Abelson won't return as Skyforce coach

Bookmark and Share

Joel Abelson confirmed to KDLT Sports Friday that he won't return as head coach of the Skyforce. Despite the fact that his team barely missed the playoffs in his initial season at the helm, the Miami Heat had since entered into a exclusive affiliation with the Skyforce and would be making decisions about personel.

Abelson expected to be interviewed for the job, but that never happened. He was informed on NBA draft day that he would not be retained. The Force went 25-25 in Abelson's only season as head coach.
