Rodriguez powers Canaries to 7th straight at home

Bookmark and Share

Marcos Rodriguez tied a franchise record with 7 RBI's Friday night as the Canaries beat the Gary Railcats 9-1, extending their home winning streak to 7 games after a dreadful start at the Cage. Mitchell Clegg pitched well and got plenty of support, especially from Rodriguez who had an RBI single to make it 3-1, a grand slam to increase the lead to 7-1 and then a 2-run double to cap the scoring. The Birds host the Railcats again Saturday and Sunday before hitting the road. They are now 25-35 and still have hopes to win a wildcard spot in the playoffs.
