Law enforcement officials, social service workers and health care providers will gather in Sioux Falls on Friday to discuss human trafficking.
The daylong "Human Trafficking in the Dakotas" symposium at the Sanford Education Center will feature panel discussions, open sessions with invited guests and keynote speakers such as Kevin Koliner from the U.S. Attorney's Office.
It's hosted by the University of South Dakota, Argosy University of Chicago and the Civil Society of St. Paul, Minn.
USD associate professor Elizabeth Talbot says people aren't really aware that trafficking is going on in the community, and it's important to educate people and teach them how to fight it.
