-- The calendar may say July 25th, but for Minnesota Vikings fans it might as well be Christmas Eve.
That's because the purple and gold are reporting to training camp in Mankato today for the start of training camp and the season tomorrow.
Players began reporting to the dorms in Mankato this afternoon, which of course including signing plenty of autographs.
Fan excitement is running high after last year's 10-6 season and playoff appearance. Plenty of new faces are in camp as well, most notably former Packers Desmond Bishop and Greg Jennings.
And everything's kind of got that "new car smell" to it.
"I really feel like a rookie. You know, I don't know many of the guys, many of you guys don't know me, I kinda have to go in and I feel like I have to prove myself. I don't know how things operate so I'm kinda like a rookie in the sense of, like, deer in the headlights." Bishop says.
"I do (feel like a rookie) in a sense. My body definitely doesn't feel like a rookie. My body feels great but from a not knowing what's taken place, kinda going about getting my bearings." Jennings says.
