A pastor who was planning a demonstration to oppose Saturday night’s Open Carry Gun Walk in Sioux Falls has now cancelled those plans.
Mitchell pastor Kristi McLaughlin and a group planned on meeting across the street from the starting line of the walk to demonstrate their beliefs.
After receiving ‘pretty harsh words’ and negative feedback from online blog sites, McLaughlin decided to cancel.
In a Facebook message to KDLT, she says, “After some very serious thoughts and reading some of the posts on local blogs, I have chosen to cancel this. It is not worth someone getting hurt.”
Gun Rights activists with the South Dakota Open Carry Sioux Falls Chapter say the goal is to raise awareness of Gun Rights Laws and help residents feel at ease when they see someone carrying a gun.
