Woman Who Hit Trooper Back In Court

Bookmark and Share

A Sioux Falls woman charged with driving drunk and running over a South Dakota Highway Patrol Trooper appeared in court today.

During today's hearing, Rachel Coleman's attorneys said that they didn't have enough time to prepare for today’s court appearance because they did not receive documents from the state’s attorney until last night.

The judge granted the council more time to prepare.

Authorities say that Coleman struck trooper Andrew Steen with her car while he was trying to pull her over for erratic driving last October.

Steen suffered multiple injuries including brain trauma and a broken ankle.

Coleman’s new court date has been set for late September in Canton.
