Mitchell native Mike Miller is getting set for his second go-round with the Memphis Grizzlies.
From 2003 to 2008 Miller set Memphis franchise records for points scored and three pointers made in a single game, winning NBA Sixth Man of the Year in 2006.
Injuries have limited him since leaving, but not enough to stop Miller from becoming a key contributor in the last two NBA Finals for the Heat.
He'll take a similar role in Memphis, one that earned him the universal respect of his teammates in Miami.
"Great guy. Like I said, has a huge heart, when you talk about sacrificing, you know he sacrificed tremendously. You know there's nights where he doesn't even see the floor and to be able to come in and still make an impact when he gets e opportunity, that says a lot about him." Former Miami Teammate Udonis Haslem says.
"There's one thing, you can go in the gym and work on your conditioning, work on your game. But it takes game experience, it takes game to have rhythm, repetition, things like that. And to jump right out and play at the highest level, the most competitive level in sports, is difficult." Miller says.
