Ponder Progressing With New Weapons

Bookmark and Share

MANKATO, MN ---  The Vikings continued training camp this afternoon with another two a day practice.

And the questions about how far Christian Ponder can take Minnesota figure to remain long after camp closes.

Ponder threw for nearly 3,000 yards and 18 touchdowns last season.  He still threw 12 interceptions and missed the team's playoff loss at Green Bay with an injury.

If the Vikings are going to reach their Super Bowl goal, they'll need Ponder's progression to take another leap this season.

To that end they've surrounded him with more weapons, signing Green Bay wideout Greg Jennings and drafting Cordarelle Patterson.

Ponder's also got more competition in Matt Cassel, and even Christian's backup last year, Joe Webb, has been moved to receiver!

So far Christian's impressed with Patterson and the new look Webb.
