Bookmark and Share

A Minnesota has woman died after a two-vehicle crash on Friday at the intersection of U.S. Highway 385 and West SD Highway 44 at about 5:15 p.m.

According to The South Dakota Highway Patrol, 25-year-old Tiffany Lynn Nelson of North Mankato was riding on a 1998 Harley Davison with 31-year-old Bradley Carl Olson, who is also from North Mankato. The patrol says Olson was driving the motorcycle northbound on Highway 385 when 22-year-old Cory James Allen Nash, of Ellsworth Air Force Base, tried to turn southbound on the highway from West Highway 44. The patrol says Nash pulled out in front on the motorcycle, causing the motorcycle to hit the rear side of the Nash’s 2008 Toyota Tundra.

The patrol says Olson and Nelson were thrown from the motorcycle. Nelson died at the scene. Olson received minor injuries. Officials say both of them were wearing helmets.

Nash, and his passenger, 21-year-old Cecilia Nash of Rapid City, were uninjured. The patrol says both were wearing their seatbelts.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.

Pennington County Sheriff’s Office and the Rapid City Fire Department assisted at the scene.
