More than 80 businesses gathered inside the Elmen Center at Augustana College today looking for future employees. The Paralyzed Veterans of America invited veterans, their spouses, and reservists to attend the 7th annual job fair. Businesses representing twelve industries were set up accepting applications and speaking to potential employees.
Brad Friez, a National Service Officer with the PVA, helped put on the job fair. He says it is a great opportunity for those who serve our country. “When you have an unemployment rate as low as it is, trying to search for jobs, sometimes it’s not necessarily unemployed, they're under-employed."
Those unable to attend the job fair today have other options. The South Dakota Department of Labor will continue to help veterans connect with companies looking to fill job openings.
