Officials say gambling in the Black Hills tourist town of Deadwood held steady for the month of July compared to a year ago.
The Deadwood Gaming Association says total gross revenue for July was $10.3 million, up from $10.2 million in July 2012. That's an increase of less than 1 percent.
Association president Tom Nelson says he's "a bit disappointed" with the numbers, but says last month's totals are up substantially over July 2011.
Nelson says the bad news is that eight locations have recently closed down gambling operations.
Gross revenues for the year are down by about $142,000, or 0.23 percent.
