Preventing Bullying In Schools

Around 700 women from across the Sioux Empire are trying to stop bullying from happening in Schools.
The Sioux Empire United Way hosted a luncheon raising awareness about bullying happening to teenage girls. Guest speakers and group discussions are part of the event.
“It’s important for students to learn empathy and not always make judgements about people from the outside but really get to know the person,” said Co-Chair Stephanie Gongopoulos.
Coordinators say they are going to try to start a one-day program in various schools around the Sioux Empire where girls can get help if they feel they are being bullied. These programs have already been offered in some schools across in the state.
