Official: Don't Leave Dogs In Parked Cars In Heat

Yankton's animal control officer says she's been notified by local veterinarians of the deaths of several dogs left in vehicles during extreme late-summer heat.
Lisa Brasel says eople need to leave their dogs at home.
She says that people leaving water in their cars while they go into the store in extreme heat is not enough.
Veterinarian Bruce Teachout at Yankton s Animal Health Clinic says he knows of two dog deaths related to being left in a vehicle in the last couple of weeks. He treated a third dog that had been outside on a chain.
