Jacks Get Off To Solid Start

BROOKINGS, S.D.  --  The South Dakota State Jackrabbits got the most anticipated season in program afternoon off to a solid start last night in Brookings.

SDSU defeated Butler 55-14 in front of nearly 10,000 fans at Coughlin-Alumni Stadium.  It was far from perfect, most notably Butler's first quarter touchdown tying drive and SDSU's ten penalties for 103 yards.  But the Jack offense was impressive (546 total yards), with Austin Sumner (22-32, 326 yards, 3 touchdown passes) and Zach Zenner (16 carries, 117 yards, 2 touchdown runs) playing to their 2012 form.

SDSU will visit former NCC rival North Dakota next Saturday at 6 PM.
