It's all about practice, practice, and some more practice.
Even if you're the best in the state.
"My putting game needs some work." Lincoln Junior Golfer Tommy Vining says.
But don't let that fool you. Tommy Vining is golfing just fine in every other facet of his game in his junior year.
"If he walks up to the green with a wedge in his head you go the other way. He's really good." Lincoln Head Coach Lyle Pearson says.
Winning the State Tournament his sophomore year, Vining can feel the target on his back..
"You know Theres a lot of pressure you got to win it again to live up to your name." Tommy says.
"It's easy coaching tommy. Tommy grew up playing golf. He loves the game he plays all the time level headed kid. Great kid." Pearson says.
And while it may seem easy to just think about me me me, in a sport like golf, the reigning state champ wants to grab another team title.
"I want the team to win a state championship for the seniors who're going off to college. I want to win for them." Vining says.
The Lincoln patriots have everyone returning from their 2012 championship team, and with a little help from Tommy Vining, another championship could be on the horizon.
