Hunger affects one out of 8 people in South Dakota and one out of five children in the state are at risk of going hungry.
The organization Feeding South Dakota is trying to change those statistics.
Today employees, workers, volunteers and others around the community are en
couraged to wear orange, a color symbolizing Feeding the Hungry.
Feeding South Dakota hopes wearing the color will let the community know there's a hunger issue in the state.
And for the rest of the month, Feeding South Dakota has scheduled activities that people can get involved in.
