Sioux Falls is one step closer to having its first, public indoor tennis center.
On Monday the Chamber announced it has completed phase two of its three phase fundraising effort.
The $4 million Community Indoor Tennis Center will be located at the Sanford Sports Complex. The center will be 46,000 square feet and have seven indoor tennis courts. There will also be classrooms, a social area, and bleachers for watching players.
Chairs of the campaign announced on Monday that phase two of the fundraiser surpassed their initial goal of $1 million.
"We've got some people that have shown an interest in naming a court which comes at certain dollar levels. So we are excited to get out and tie those things down with them," Director of Community Indoor Tennis Center Bill Townsend said.
The third and final phase of fundraising will begin in November.
