The Bowden Youth Center in Sioux Falls received very important upgrades on Tuesday that will benefit kids and their parents.
The center unveiled ten new computers. The new computers will give low income students the opportunity to work on homework after school. In addition, their parents are welcome to use the computers to look for jobs, create resumes, or access email.
“Kids have it in schools but they don’t have it in their homes. Many families are working one and two jobs. They don’t have time to go to the library, and really do need access to the internet and computers. SO this will offer that to them,” said Joan Neilan, Outreach and Community Services Director.
Funding and training for the computers is provided by CenturyLink. The center is also getting new desks which are provided by Starmark Cabinetry.
