A Piedmont woman has claimed a $10,000 Powerball prize.
South Dakota lottery officials say Sandy Geffre won the game's third prize in last Saturday's drawing. The odds of winning it are 1 in about 649,000. Geffre also won another $4 on another play line.
The Big D convenience store in Rapid City gets a $1,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
Powerball is played in 43 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The jackpot sits at $40 million for the next drawing, on Saturday.
