Soldiers From SD Guard Returning To Rapid City

Soldiers from a South Dakota Army National Guard unit are returning home from a nine-month deployment to Afghanistan.
A Tuesday afternoon welcome home ceremony is planned for soldiers of the 1978th Contingency Contracting Team, which has been assisting with the development and administration of contracting support plans and policy in support of U.S. and coalition forces throughout the country.
The ceremony is scheduled for 1 p.m. MDT at the Duke Corning Armory at Camp Rapid.
Gov. Dennis Daugaard and Maj. Gen. Tim Reisch, the Guard's adjutant general, are scheduled to speak. The public is encouraged to attend.
