Although it may feel more like summer outside, Sunday was the first official day of fall.
At exactly 3:44 p.m. summer officially ended. But that didn’t stop people from enjoying the sunshine and warm temperatures. Annie McGregor and her mom spent the day at Falls Park with their dog Charlie. The pair was very surprised to find out Sunday is the first day of autumn.
“I’ve gotten kind of sick of the cold weather we’ve had the last week,” McGregor said. “So it’s been nice, and he loves being outside. We like enjoying the weather before it gets cold again.”
Across the state Sunday’s temperatures were ten to 20 degrees warmer than the average for the first day of fall.
