A man accused of fatally shooting his fiancee in rural Chamberlain wants his trial moved out of Brule County.
Kent Davidson is charged with shooting Crystal Schulz in the head with a shotgun on March 11.
Her body was found three days later in a shed at her mother's place. They were engaged, but court documents say Schulz was ending their relationship.
Davidson has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder, second-degree murder and manslaughter, and possessing a firearm while committing a felony.
Davidson's lawyer has asked for a change of venue because of pretrial publicity. He also wants to exclude some evidence.
Schultz's mother, Agnes Clement, also recently posted a petition online seeking signatures from people to oppose Davidson getting a plea deal.
