Wednesday night people got a sneak peek at the very first Costco in South Dakota.
More than 1,000 people packed the store for a special VIP night. There, people were able to sample food from the store’s café, and browse other merchandise the store has to offer. More than 200 workers have been stocking the store for the past 30 days. Wednesday, store leaders said the opening has been a long time coming.
"People have been talking about this for a year I think," David Burkholder, the Marketing and Membership Manager at Costco said. "So tonight they finally get to come in and take a look.”
The store officially opens at 8 a.m. Thursday.
The cost for a membership ranges from $55 to $110 a year.
