Walkoff Grand Slam Gives Warriors Three-Peat!

Bookmark and Share

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. --  Washington's third consecutive state softball title might be their most memorable yet.

Down 3-2 in the bottom of the 8th inning, and with two strikes, junior Amirah Michaeli hit a walkoff Grand Slam to left field, clinching the Class A State Championship for Washington 6-3 over crosstown rival Roosevelt.

Michaeli had earlier given the Warriors a 2-1 lead with an RBI single in the 4th inning.  Roosevelt's Lexi Koltz tied the game with an RBI single the following inning.

Roosevelt got a sacrifice fly to go ahead 3-2 in the top of the 8th.
