A Look Inside Denny Sanford PREMIER Center

Bookmark and Share

Nearly a year and three months after breaking ground on the new events center in Sioux Falls, the roof is being put on the building. Before the structure is fully enclosed, we got a look inside Denny Sanford PREMIER Center.

When you pull up to the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center, your experience of 303,000 square foot facility will come in through one of three entrances.

Mortensen Construction Executive Jason Miranowski said, "Most people come walking in from underneath the canopy, the ticketing lobby space, the marquee sign here, kind of telling you what the events are going to be."

When you walk in, there's an astounding look at all four levels. On the first level, the event level,
there's access to the locker rooms, four small ones and two larger rooms.

Miranowski said, "That's actually access to one of the players benches, home team or visiting team. One of them is there, the other one is on the other side of the wall here."

Whether it be a rodeo, monster truck show, or concert, it's also the level where the main attraction will come in.

"You're able to drive your 18 wheelers in here, your tractor trailers. So if you have a big concert and they want to bring in their stage and equipment in and everything, they drive right on in and off load it right on the event floor," said Miranowski.

If you're looking to go up, you'll find one of four escalators. On the main concourse is where you'll find restrooms, the food, and best of all, amazing views.

Miranowski said, "You basically have two bars that are set up here. You'll be able to sit here and have a cocktail, you will be able to have a center view of center court or center rink. As well as if you take a step back, you can see Howard Wood Field."

If you can afford a better seat, one level higher, are the premium seats and private suites, 22 altogether.

No matter where you are in the building, even from the upper concourse, it's hard to believe that there will be a bad seat in the house.

The construction of the events center is ahead of schedule. Mortensen Construction hoped to have the structure enclosed by the end of the year, they say it will most likely happen by the end of November.
