Update: 18-Year-Old Injured In Rollover

Bookmark and Share

A Mitchell Technical Institute student is in stable condition after an early morning rollover accident near Humboldt.

Police responded to a rollover accident around 4:12 Tuesday morning. 18-year-old Dylan Lessel Young of Dell Rapids was eastbound on Highway 38 traveling from Mitchell to Dell Rapids.  Young began to drift and overcorrected, rolling his vehicle.  He was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.

According to officials, a passerby came upon a vehicle on its top in a ditch and found a man nearby. Young was flown to an area hospital with serious injuries and is in stable condition.

Police say that alcohol appears to have been a factor.

Officials said that Young was the driver and lone occupant of the vehicle.

Charges are unknown at this time.
