Firefighters were battling a grass fire just west of Renner for over an hour Sunday afternoon.
Fire crews were called to blaze near 258th Street and Kiwanis Avenue at around 3:30 p.m., where an area of dried marsh went up in flames.
Crews from the Renner and Crooks Volunteer Fire Departments were working hard to contain the fire so it didn't spread to a nearby pasture full of cows. A few barns were also in the path of the fire.
Crews remained on scene to watch for hot spots.
