About 1,800 electric customers in western South Dakota remain without power from an autumn storm that dumped several feet of snow, and more is falling.
Black Hills Power says about 200 of its customers still don't have electricity but most should by midweek. West River electric cooperatives say an estimated 1,600 of their members are still without power and that repairs in some areas could take several more days.
The South Dakota Rural Electric Association says the additional winter weather will make it more difficult for crews to make repairs, and high winds might knock over more lines or those that have been weakened or not fully repaired.
