A woman who trekked the entire Appalachian Trail by herself plans to share how it helped her turn the journey into a full-time career as a hiker.
Jennifer Pharr Davis speaks Tuesday evening at Northern State in Aberdeen.
She grew up about an hour from the trail and took five months to hike the entire 2,181 miles through 14 states from Maine to Georgia.
Pharr Davis returned in 2008 and broke the women's record for the fastest completion of the trail by doing it in 57 days and eight hours.
