VERMILLION, S.D. – South Dakota volleyball swept Omaha 25-19, 28-26, 25-15 in the DakotaDome on Sunday night to extend its Summit League win streak to 12 games and make it a full year since their last league loss.

The Coyotes (16-6) are 7-0 through the first half of this season’s league schedule and have not lost a league match since dropping a 3-2 decision at Fort Wayne on Oct. 20 of last year.  They also recorded their eighth straight home win and sixth straight win over Omaha (6-16, 1-6).  Omaha’s last win over USD was a 3-1 decision in Omaha on Sept. 28, 2007.

Kendall Kritenbrink recorded a double-double and 20 kills in the same match for the third time this season, finishing with 20 kills, 10 digs and four blocks.  Tori Kroll recorded her seventh double-double of the season with 40 assists and 11 digs.  Riley Haug and Audrey Reeg both added double-digit dig efforts with 13 and 11 respectively.

Omaha was led by Amy Taylor’s eight kills and Baily Baxter’s 11 digs.

South Dakota held a 48-35 advantage in kills and recorded a .318 hitting percentage.  The Coyotes trailed just twice in the match and held off the Mavericks in the second set.  The teams tied 13 times in that set while swapping the lead twice.

The Coyotes broke the match open with a 12-1 run to start the third set.  They finished the third set with a .429 hitting percentage on 18 kills and three attack errors.

The Coyotes will be on the road next weekend as they take on IUPUI on Friday at 6 p.m. in Indianapolis. They’ll also visit Fort Wayne on Saturday.  USD still leads the Summit League standings by a game after Denver (12-8, 6-1) topped Western Illinois 3-0 on Sunday afternoon.
