You saw it right here on KDLT, the matchup between the 1-6 Vikings and 5-2 Packers. Although the Packers came into the game heavily favored, the rivalry is still very much alive.
Sunday, we visited Rookies Sports Bar and Grill in Sioux Falls to catch up with the fans watching the division matchup. As the fans cheered on their favorite teams, they told us why they are sticking by them through the season, no matter the game’s outcome.
One Vikings fan says her son got her into watching them years ago. Now, even though their ups and downs, she’s sporting her jersey any chance she can get.
“I think they have some building to do. But they surprised me last year. They can surprise me this year too,” said Vikings fan, Carol Rovshaw.
Across the bar, one Packers fan says he hopes his team stays injury free. He believes Green Bay has the talent this year to cruise their way into the play-offs, all the way to the Super Bowl.
“I’ve been a Packers fan for a long time. It’s been since I was probably five or six years old. They won a Super bowl when I was young so I’ve just been a fan ever since,” said Packers fan, Zach Olivier.
Following the Packers win Sunday, the lead the series with 56 wins compared to the Vikings 49. The two teams have only ended a game in a tie once.
