A Sioux Falls man, accused in the death of a young boy, pleads not guilty to all the charges against him, including second degree murder.
Authorities say 27-year-old Joseph Patterson is responsible for abusing and killing 2-year-old Tyrese Robert Ruffin. Ruffin was the biological son of Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson.
On October 9th, police were called to Patterson's Sioux Falls apartment for a report of a child choking.
Tyrese was taken to the hospital with injuries to his head. He later died at the hospital.
Police say Patterson, who was Tyrese's mother's boyfriend, was the only one watching the boy at the time.
Patterson has a criminal history that includes charges of abusing another young boy and that boy's mother.
Today, Patterson's bond was changed from $1 million to $750,000.
