The man accused of killing Adrian Peterson's 2-year-old son has posted bail.
According to the Minnehaha County Jail, 27-year-old Joseph Patterson posted bail on Tuesday and is no longer in custody.
Patterson's bond was changed from $1 million to $750,000 on Monday.
Authorities say Patterson is responsible for abusing and killing 2-year-old Tyrese Robert Ruffin. Ruffin was the biological son of Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson.
On Oct. 9, police were called to Patterson's Sioux Falls apartment for a report of a child choking.
Tyrese was taken to the hospital with injuries to his head. He later died at the hospital.
Police say Patterson, who was Tyrese's mother's boyfriend, was the only one watching the boy at the time.
Patterson has a criminal history that includes charges of abusing another young boy and that boy's mother.
